On any given day in Santa Barbara, you can go out and hear a soulful Blues band, a jumping Jazz trio, or a bumpin’ funk band, but THE BOMB offers a melting pot of music stylings all in a single performance. In spite of its humble beginnings as a 4 piece R&B band, it has expanded to whatever the demand calls for. The versatility of the band makes it stand alone as it appeals to a wide audience.
THE BOMB was honored to play at the Santa Barbara Bowl for its 65th anniversary celebration in 2001. They helped raise money for the renovation project by being a part of this event. Twelve of the Tri-counties finest musicians collaborated to perform that night. More recently, the band was honored to perform at the El Presidente celebration during Old Spanish Days, 2002. But, by far the biggest honorbestowed upon the band is being a part of the most important day in many people's lives, their wedding day.
Althoughthe band has grown significantly over the years, the band leader and lead vocalist, says, "No occasion is too small for the band. We can do anything from a jazz trio to a big band sound and anything in between." The band regularly plays music for for corporate events, holiday parties, and special organizations. Past events include Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpenteria Chambers of Commerce events, the Lemon and Avocado Festivals, Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club annual party, and many other events. THE BOMBwill always deliver amemorable and distinctive performance.
Theband offers musical styles that include Blues, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Funk, Latin, and a little bit more of everything. Features artists include such notable names as Cougar Estrada (of Los Lobos and the Estrada Brothers), Mychal Lomas, Randy Tico, Dan Zimmerman, Joan Fraley, Chester Cooly, Lorenzo Martinez and too many more to mention. Truly, the group is so much more than just a band, but literally a bank of God-given talents.
